The department of physical preparation and sports is one of the leading departments among educational and structural divisions of Military institute of Internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, providing teaching and educational process and all sporting events in the institute. It was organized in 1997; lieutenant colonel Bazarbayev S.K., the graduate of Military institute of physical culture of Lesgafta in 1983 headed it at that time.
It paid much attention to the construction and improvement of sports base of the department. The whole complex of sports constructions was constructed during his work .The lieutenant colonel Belousov A.N., senior lieutenant Muldinov T.N., ensign Isatayev Z.B., ensign Saduakasov K.K. worked there since the formation of the department. Since 2000 — lieutenant Dairshin S. B., since 2001 — lieutenant Ismukhambetov T.K., the graduate of MI of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, since 2002 — lieutenant Grishmanov R.V., since 2003 — captain Ryabinin P.S., one of the brightest stars of skiing, the master of sports of the international class on skiing, the participant of three winter Olympic Games.
From 2004 to 2006 the department of physical preparation and sports was headed by the colonel Dityuk V.A. – one of the skilled officers of Internal troops having wide practical experience in military service, under his management the department began to occupy one of the leading places in sports and mass work among educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2006 to 2012 the department was headed by the colonel Doszhanov B. A., the graduate of Military institute of physical culture of Lesgafta in 1988, who had served at various positions from the chief of physical preparation of sports of a regiment, to the chief of physical preparation and sports of Internal troops. Having continued and having deepened the ideas of previous heads, besides further improvement of activity of the department; he gives a purposeful and systematic character to the research work, involving into it the whole staff.
Today, the staff of the department consists of highly skilled senior teachers: Lieutenant Colonel in Reserve, civil servant Muldinov T.N., Major Dairshin S.B., Lieutenant Colonel Kapazhanov S.A. – the chief of physical preparation and sports of the Military institute.
The presence of skilled athletes-teachers allows department to develop the traditions put by its founders: the captain Brimzhanov M.S. — the graduate of MI IT of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the World champion in a kickboxing of 2007, the master of sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in kickboxing, captain Nusupov M.T. — Champion of Europe in Kazaksha Kures in 2007, the master of sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kazaksha Kures, the twofold champion of Internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in «Sambo» fight, the senior lieutenant Nurmanov B. B., lieutenant Tanakulov A.T. – the candidate for the master of sports in volleyball, lieutenant Khyrykhbay A. — The world champion in ju-jitsu of 2009, the master of sports of the international class, the master of sports in judo, the master of sports on hand-to-hand fight, the master of sports on fighting sambo, the master of sports on sambo, the master of sports in Kazakhsha Kures, the World champion in hand-to-hand fight of 2012.
From the moment of formation the department takes places in sports contest of the Regional council of «DYNAMO», in a sports contest among higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in a sports contest of Internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the first sports contest among the highest military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2011 the MI of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan took an honorable second place.
The teaching staff constantly works on increasing of the professional skills; officers and employees of the department having wide practical experience, use it in educating of future officers, imparting them the knowledge and experience they gained.
